It has recently come to our attention that Leslie Haga and Kelly Kirschnick, were terminated from employment with Central Virginia Electric Cooperative after providing exemplary customer service to the local community for more than 15 years. Though we are not aware of the specifics of their termination, and we understand that it is the policy of Central Virginia Electric Cooperative that personnel matters not be made public, we are requesting reconsideration of your decision.

We, the member owners, community members, friends and family respectfully request more consideration in the decision regarding Mrs. Haga and Ms. Kirschnick’s termination of employment. Given that Central Virginia Electric Cooperative was formed by local citizen and community members back in 1937, who believed that providing electric service and exemplary customer service to the community members of rural Virginia were of the upmost importance. On your website it states “The Cooperative operates on a not-for-profit basis, returning margins (the difference between revenues and cost) to its member through capital credits. CVEC has a tradition of keeping margins and costs low while providing great service to members.”

So, we ask you, the Board of Directors to please take into consideration our voices, regarding the termination of two of your employees who have gone above and beyond to help the local citizens in regards to their electrical service with Central Virginia Electric Cooperative.

This is absurd. We have all struggled with bills at one point or another. To fire two individuals for simply caring is insane! Maybe if your rates weren't through the roof, people wouldn't even have this issue!

As a local customer and business owner I can not see the reasoning for terminating such good employees. People make mistakes and in people I mean the person who let go of two such good employees. CVEC should reinstate them to their positions and backpay them for the time they have lost.

Two great ladies! They definitely deserve better than what they have received. COMMUNITY. That is what they served and did a wonderful job. Serving the public is one of the hardest jobs to have and they have done it for so long with professionalism and compassion!

It's counterproductive to terminate the employment of employees like Leslie Haga and Kelly Kirschnick. I have always known them to go above and beyond to help CVEC customers, who are also owners. They should be recognized for being class acts that work to ensure the continued success of CVEC.

Every time I came into the office I was always greeted with a smile and by name that is GREAT customer service and that is Leslie and Kelly. Letting them go is a huge loss to this community.

Leslie has always been a go to person at the coop. I had experiences with some in the Lovingston office who were lacking in a lot of areas and I bet they still have a job. Please reconsider your actions on Leslie and KELLY.

Leslie and Kelly are two of the most thoughtful and caring people I know. That care was also shown through all their customer service relations at CVEC. I love them BOTH!!! PLEASE RECONSIDER YOUR DECISION!
