We want recognition for the commitment, effort and investment that we have made toward the Direct Entry Master’s program. We find that the program delivers less than marketable and transferable recognition due to the limited nature of the MN diploma. Individuals who previously raised studied questions on this issue, have been unfavorably dismissed and labeled as ‘uncivil’, ‘trouble makers’ and received backlash. This notwithstanding, the inequities persist for us, our predecessors and successors.

The resolution requires administrative effort to effect whatever change is necessary to be in a position to award these cohort a MSN rather than a MN degree. The MN is not a marketable, qualifiable or meaningfully recognized diploma, even within the home community of Milwaukee. This limits our scope of practice, advancement and ability to pursue advance practice degrees.
