I hope this really make a change in the St. Catherine’s community because even though I do not go to st. Catherine’s anymore, I want there to be more diversity among faculty, staff, and the student body, and if this petition reaches its goal I believe it could make a huge difference by diversifying the school and making it a more inclusive place ultimately making it a better place.

I definitely agree with this petition, and I feel like St.Catherines should educate the students on cultural sensitivity a lot more.

Do better. Be better. For a predominately white school, y’all clearly strive to stress the importance of diversity. Yet, when all of this is going on, YOUR students and graduates could not care less. It’s disgusting and needs to be taken care of. Implement “slave narratives” (the technical term) into your English classes and educate your students on what this country was REALLY founded on (the constitution ONLY supports white, male landowners. Look it up if you’re curious). Do better. It’s 2020 for Christ’s sake.

Class of 2010. I fully support these initiatives. If we expect to shape future leaders, we need to comprehensively educate about privilege and diversity through the curriculum and teaching staff. Hiring a Diversity Director will help us align incentives to ensure this is done in a meaningful and systematic way.

I stand by these initiatives 100%. I had no idea there were no black teachers in the upper school. A diverse faculty and curriculum will help prepare our girls for a future of leadership and strength in the world.
