I pulled my daughter out of that school and am homeschooling her. Best choice I ever made. She's such a happy kid now.

I don’t think kids that can’t drive them selves to school should be punished for being late and I also think it’s reckless to demand we send sick kids to school or take them to dr for every cough and cold. I should have the right to keep my kid home when he’s sick. It’s also a misdemeanor in the state of Washington to go into a public place knowingly with an infectious disease or virus, it’s also not a good idea to take your kids to dr for every cold because you can potentially subject them to other infections.

Because of the superintendent and the high school principal is the reason I pulled my younger daughter out and have her attending Port Townsend district, where we are both much happier.

As a former member of the board, I am appalled at the boards decision to renew the Superintendent’s contract. His performance has been lackluster at best, driving great, strong, dedicated employees to seek employment elsewhere. His behavior is best defined as adult bullying in the workplace, and that is serious. Enrollment has steadily declined since he came aboard—it is time to take a serious look at the reason why. Those answers start with Rick. He is a problem, and he needs to move on.

As a former student a CHS I have lived through this many struggles listed.. CHS used to be a great place when I first entered high school but it quickly became a hostile and unsafe place for students. Leak of respect towards students, teachers, and parents were a HUGE issue! The school is continuously going down hill! In my graduating class of 2018 at least 10 students dropped out due to these issues! This school is being run be men on a power trip and something needs to change for the sake of the students, teachers, and parents.

I knew Rick when he was a principal at my son’s school. He falsely accused my son of saying something. There were wintnesses to prove my son never said it. When my son met with him, he told my son he should drop out of high school which my son quit going to the school at that time after being told this. What principal tells a student to drop out of school? This was over 10 years ago. He has no regards for his students and shows no signs of caring for students to succeed. He has poor leadership skills. I would never let a child of mine go to a school he has any part of. Please listen to people’s comments and obviously he has not changed.

Rick has done NOTHING to make amends with parents and skirts issues by telling stories and doesn't take action when asked to do so. He is more concerned with giving himself unwarranted raises and covering his own tush!

Rick Thompson is a bully to his employees, is fake to a parents face and has his own agendas and is accomplishing it at the cost of the kids! His agenda is not to help, encourage, educate, nurture our precious young and growing young adults! It is to build him up and put the people that will not question him below him for his own gain. I don’t understand why/how the people’s voice is being heard and not heeded! Chimacum is failing and it’s because the community is not being backed! We are trying to make a difference but politics are so corrupt and just laugh at our attempts to be better and make a positive change!
