Petition For More Research, Awareness, Training For Med School Students & Doctors For Chronic Pelvic Pain Frequently Caused By Pudendal Neuralgia/PNE

For my friend and others who suffer.

I know three people with PN and they have suffered terribly. We need awareness and funding for this debilitating condition...

I suffered terribly from PN for ten years after a bad fall on my coccyx in '98. All the specialists I consulted missed the diagnosis, and instead subjected me to medical and surgical treatments which resulted in significant waste and harm. The worst of all was from the neurologist who placed a letter in my record including the following,"...many of her problems would be no worse, and possibly much better, were she to be placed on a desert island without medication." I did finally find a true expert in PN who was able to diagnose me within seconds using nothing more than a safety pin, but by then I had developed a serious neuropathic pain problem which has been very difficult to help with either medical or surgical treatment. I also suffer from Stage 4 breast cancer. Given a choice, I would rather get rid of the PN than the cancer; that's how miserable it is to live with neuropathic pain from PN. Raise awareness!

I suffer from Pudendual Neuralgia and was misdiagnosed for the first year of my newborn's life. It's the most painful thing I have ever endured. Everyday is a constant battle to even get out of bed. I pray that the pain doctors, Psychologist and other doctors who give up on their patients will take a second look, because it could change people who suffer another life.

This kind of pain needs acknowledgement it makes peoples lives a misery.

Hi Shawn just watched your youtube video I really hope you are doing better. I have had PN/PNE for the last year and it's been the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, everyday having to be stronger than the last. I feel like I have no security or comfort in my life just pain. Thank you for creating this page, you have done a wonderful thing for our community of fellow human beings suffering from PNE.

PN is extremely painful and changes your life forever. More research is needed to find a cure.

My wife is currently suffering from this; surviving (barely) every few hours from percoset to percocet. Hasn't worked for months. See a doctor soon who is aware of PN.

If there is a need all efforts must be made to care for those people

Thank you for all your help. My husband has struggled with this for years and can no longer sit! Even Mayo clinic said they had no one who specialized in this area.
