Petition For More Research, Awareness, Training For Med School Students & Doctors For Chronic Pelvic Pain Frequently Caused By Pudendal Neuralgia/PNE

Thank you Shawn for creating this petition. I have suffered with pudendal nerve pain for years with very little help. You are correct, it is so difficult to find medical help. I've been misdiagnosed, had unnecessary surgeries, cannot find help in the state where I now live, have incurred medical debt, and have known dark thoughts and despair that never existed until my PN pain came on like a tsunami. We need help! We need more help! And the medical community needs to come together to advocate for effective treatments like Botox and Pulsed Radiofrequency to be covered by insurance companies. Our brothers and sisters in Canada, Europe, and Australia have a human right to healthcare. That is not the case in the U.S.

I'm in tears hearing that there is a real Dr that knows how I've been feeling from the waste down since 2013. After my last low back surgery the find that I have scar tissue wrapped around my pudendal nerve along with a herniation in the vicinity. Please lead me in the right direction. I tried suicide only to wind up on life support for 2 weeks and lost half my thinking abilities.

PN can debilitate a person with the Nerve pain & confine many to be bed ridden for life due to lack of knowledge and correct medical or therapeutic help. Please educate the medical world about PN so that people stop suffering unnecessarily. Everyone has the right to have some quality of life.

Who knew that having a 10lb baby could cause PNE, bladder issues, and tons of surgeries in between to help with chronic embarrassment. What I know now, 20 years later, to what I knew then is mind boggling. Men get this from riding bicycles for long periods of time and possibly colon/rectal issues. Women can also get this from riding bicycles, coloc/rectal issues, childbirth, as well as many other issues. Yet, there isn't a lot of research done on the neuralgia. How many women have been miss diagnosed with Fibromyalgia or even, it's all in your head theories. I received shots in the Pudendal Nerve yesterday and was pretty out of pain for a few hours. There needs to be more research into how this occurs and how to treat it. How do other women work when in constant psin almost brings you to your knees?

For 14 years I went to tons doctors for Rectal pain. Not one of them told me about Pudendal pain. I couldn't help myself because I didn't know why I was in excruciating pain. Doctors need to learn about Pudendal pain, so people like me don't go untreated.
