I tried to hit on the special education population when I was completing the feedback form for the health and safety plan. I am not honestly sure how legally it is acceptable for the district to not (at a minimum) offer virtual as an option for those requiring special education. In reality, this population should be afforded the option of in person schooling that also complies with CDC guidance and a classroom with masks.

Until all school aged children can be vaccinated they are still vulnerable to COVID 19, it’s variants and any long term effects that may result from the virus. The safety of students should be paramount.

I have one child with chronic lung disease and asthma and another with asthma. I don’t see how I can send them to school in the absence of vaccines, social distancing or masks.
