Request to Barratt Homes: Grit Bins on the Bridleways Estate

Living on Fagley Lane has been a struggle with both the snow and ice. The amount of abandoned and cars which struggled to get up the lane has been ridiculous. I had one vehicle park outside my home in a van to help another resident stuck and his handbrake didn’t hold. The van then began rolling towards my driveway wall. There are no grit bins at the bottom of Fagley Lane, unlike Keepmoat residents who seem to have been provided with them by Keepmoat. We very frequently have emergency services racing down towards the bottom of Fagley Lane to access other homes. This would have been impossible over the last few days.

Brilliant stating point hopefully the developers will see sense and support.

I’ve just bought a house in the estate and haven’t even moved in yet, but I’ve already faced issues due to the lack of grit bins. During the recent snow, I got stuck on the street and had to leave my car stranded for 2 days before finally getting it out. Driving in those conditions was extremely dangerous, and it’s clear that grit bins are urgently needed to prevent situations like this in the future.

I got stuck in the snow and had to leave my car stranded for two days before I could finally get it out. Driving in those conditions was extremely dangerous and stressful. Adding grit bins would make a huge difference for residents and ensure safer travel during winter.

Really dangerously slippy on this estate and especially on our small side road off the main fetlock drive as barely anyone comes up here. Wheels on cars spinning and getting stuck. We've used as much household salt we can, but we can't make it safely to the shops to get more but why should we? We pay council tax for a reason! Kind regards

Please provide grit bins on the Bridleway site for the safety of the residents and visitors. By not providing safe access on the site that you are responsible for you may be in breach CDM regulations.
