Request for Cancellation or Alternative Assessment for Cambridge/Edexcel May 2026 Exams in the Middle East

I think the exams should be canceled at least until the war is over. I cannot focus with the fear of dying 24/7 so it isn’t fair to put a big exam on us at the moment.

I don’t feel it’s fair for us to sit the exam under those circumstances however I do believe we should get a other form of examination

I agree that we arent working under normal condtions. Speaking for myself, the enviroment has been detrimental to my focus and due to online schooling i feel that im not as able to grasp content with full confidence therefore exam style questions would be even more difficult to tackle when assistance isnt provided at maximum levels. Being at home puts us in a direct disadvantage from others who are allowed to be in school globally - I think all factors of the situation should be taken into consideration and a decision should be in all of our best interests.

GCSE should be cancelled due to the war and all the stress and anxiety it’s putting on all the students

It is very hard to absorb content being taught to us having online school. Would be unfair to have exams especially for science and not having done the RPs

We need to have in person learning so the teachers can teach us properly but since that isn’t possible at the current moment we need to cancel or do alternative assesments.

Assessments should be stopped during war because students’ safety and mental health are more important than exams. During war, children may face danger, fear, and stress, which makes it very hard for them to focus on studying or performing well in tests. Schools and teachers should prioritize protecting students and giving them emotional support instead of adding pressure through assessments. Pausing exams allows children to feel safer and reduces stress during a difficult time.

I am writing to sincerely explain that I do not feel able to sit my GCSE examinations this month due to the severe impact recent events in the UAE have had on me mentally and physically. The ongoing regional tensions, missile threats, and constant atmosphere of fear have caused overwhelming anxiety, disrupted sleep, difficulty concentrating, and physical symptoms of stress. As a 15-year-old student already under significant exam pressure, this situation has left me emotionally unstable and unable to perform to the standard I have worked towards. Sitting these exams in my current state would not reflect my true ability, as the distress I am experiencing is beyond my control. I respectfully ask for your understanding and consideration of my circumstances.

I think the exam should be canceled because online lessons have made it harder to fully grasp some concepts. While I enjoy the flexibility of online learning, it’s been challenging to get the same depth of understanding and personal support that we would in a traditional classroom. I believe this impacts our ability to prepare for the exam properly.

I these unfortunate circumstances it is very hard to continue revision due to the stress,aswell as not finishing the syllabus for certain subjects before online had started.Lastly it is not safe to sit examinations in this situation

I believe that the IGCSE’S should be cancelled for the schools in the UAE due to our current situation that we are in. This situation has caused an enormous increase in anxiety for all students around the UAE.
