Request for Cancellation or Alternative Assessment for Cambridge/Edexcel May 2026 Exams in the Middle East

It’s not fair please

IGCSE exams should be cancelled due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States, which is creating uncertainty and stress for students across the Middle East. Many students in the UAE are worried about safety, travel disruptions, and the overall unstable situation. Education should not take place during times of regional conflict where students are distracted and anxious. A fairer solution would be to use coursework, predicted grades, or teacher assessments so students are not unfairly affected by circumstances beyond their control.

We are at an extreme disadvantage to the people in the UK.

I believe it is unfair as we have not been in school for 7 weeks and online learning is not effective

I firmly believe that this petition represents the sentiments of students across the Middle East, considering the current state of our nations. The cancellation or modification of assessments would be highly advantageous for us, as we are also required to endure an additional two weeks of online learning, which falls significantly short of the opportunities provided during previous school years.
