Request for Cancellation or Alternative Assessment for A Level May/June 2026 Exams in the Middle East

we don’t learn anything online, not nearly as prepared as we should be for our AS level exams, half the topics are incomplete. It would be completely unfair to do our exams due to the external conditions.

It should be cancelled or an alternative made easy for children who are going through mental disturbance.

I have been affected by the conflict as I have had to travel due to the war and I am unable to join online classes. We haven’t even finished all the topics that will be tested in my a level.

The IMPACT ON CANDIDATES The consequences for IAL students in Abu Dhabi are serious and wide-ranging: • Disrupted teaching and learning: School closures have removed structured teaching at the most critical point in the academic year, with no adequate replacement. • Incomplete course delivery: Certain units particularly those requiring practical or laboratory work cannot be taught under current conditions, leaving candidates with significant gaps in their preparation. • Severe psychological impact: Living under active conflict, with constant alerts and fear for personal safety, causes acute stress and anxiety that directly impairs concentration, memory, and cognitive performance. This is not an isolated case of individual hardship. This is a regional crisis simultaneously affecting a large cohort of Pearson Edexcel candidates. WHAT I AM ASKING PEARSON TO CONSIDER I respectfully urge Pearson Edexcel to take the following steps: 1. Formally recognise this as an emergency situation affecting the June 2026 IAL series for candidates registered at Abu Dhabi centres. 2. Seriously consider postponing or rescheduling affected examinations in the UAE until it is safe for students to sit them or extract the grades of the students in another way Or in the least apply adjusted grade boundaries or series-wide consideration for Abu Dhabi candidates, in recognition of the documented disruption to teaching, learning, and wellbeing. 4. Establish direct communication with schools and examination centres in Abu Dhabi to fully assess the scale of impact and coordinate a fair and considered response. I understand that decisions of this magnitude are complex and carry significant logistical implications. If IB is cancelled A levels should be cancelled as well

it's not fair that we aren't being told whether we will sit the exams or not when there is barely anytime left, especially with circumstances right now it's highly unpredictable and exhausting.

Due to the ongoing war situation and the resulting disruption to studies, students have been unable to access proper learning and practice opportunities. We respectfully request the cancellation of the upcoming A-Level examinations to ensure fairness and safety for all candidates.

The situation is very tense right now and it is not safe at all to be outside. The exams should be canceled 100%

Military checkpoints make it unpredictable and sometimes impossible to get to school causing universities and schools in Palestine to be online for 1 month now which isn’t the same as revising in school. On top of that there’s currently no access to benzine and limited access to gas which makes traveling in general much more difficult. These things and the general dangers make traveling to the official exams unreliable and it is completely out of our control meaning many will miss exams due to likely road enclosures at the given time of the exams.
