We, the students signing this petition, ask for the cancellation of the IB exams this year. Many students are currently struggling to focus and study properly, which makes it very difficult to prepare for such important exams. These exams are supposed to fairly measure our knowledge and effort, but under the current circumstances many students are not able to perform at their best. This makes the situation unfair. We ask the IB to consider using coursework, internal assessments, and predicted grades instead of final exams so that students can be evaluated more fairly.

am writing to express my serious concern about how the ongoing conflict in the Middle East is directly impacting my ability to prepare for my upcoming IB exams. Over the past months, Qatar has been repeatedly involved in regional escalation marked by Iranian missile and drone attacks and air‑defense interceptions over Doha, which have resulted in loud interception explosions heard across the city and debris falling in residential areas such as Al Waab and West Bay. The ongoing security situation began almost a year ago with the first waves of attacks from Iran following widening hostilities, and the current phase of this conflict has only intensified with continued missile barrages and interception alerts. My school is currently conducted completely online, with classes scheduled from 10:30 AM to 1:15 PM according to the Ministry of Education guidelines. The shortened schedule, repeated school cancellations, and no face‑to‑face instruction have drastically reduced the time available for learning content. Frequent evacuation warnings and security alerts have disrupted lessons and made focused study extremely difficult. The stress and anxiety caused by the constant threat of explosions, debris, and displacement have also had a significant mental health impact, affecting my ability to concentrate and retain information. Many families in Qatar are evacuating, including mine — we are scheduled to leave on Monday, which adds further disruption to my study routine and exam preparation. With only approximately six to seven weeks left until the IB exams, I am very concerned that I have lost critical instructional time and am unable to effectively cover the syllabus. This situation is not temporary routine disruption, it has been persistent and escalating, significantly impacting my academic progress.
