Request for Cancellation or Alternative Assessment for IB May 2026 Exams in the Middle East

I ask that the exams for M26 students are cancelled due to the ongoing conflict around us in the middle east. Its hard to learn and revise without any allocated in school time, and the fear of drones and missles linger in our minds all day long causing stress and uncertainty

Im an IB student from Iraq and we really and desperately need help. We can not study with the constant fear and the constant bombs flying over our heads we can not focus therefore we’re not able to prepare for the exams due to the conflict so please we really need IB to cancel these exams or do something to help us Middle Eastern students because we truly can not do this anymore.

Exams are meant to measure knowledge, not fear. Yet right now, many of us are living under constant stress, uncertainty, and distraction. Our minds are already carrying the weight of what is happening around us. Expecting students to walk into an exam hall and perform at their best in such circumstances is not fairness. It is asking us to prove clarity while surrounded by chaos. Postponing these exams would not weaken standards. It would restore fairness, allowing our results to reflect what we have learned, not what we are enduring. Education should stand on equity. And equity begins with listening to the voices of students.
