Request for Cancellation or Alternative Assessment for IB May 2026 Exams in the Middle East

We do not have enough time to study nor revise, our current situations are difficult and affecting our mental healths and family situations.

I firmly agree with this petition and support the cause.

IB students deserve to have FAIR opportunities across the globe. What is not fair is to present IB students in the Middle East with the same examinations that require the same level of studying and commitment that they aren't able to demonstrate because of external circumstances that no one can control. Don't punish students for the mistakes of governments, especially where the students' futures are being impacted so greatly. IBO, perhaps this is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate equity over equality.

Bombs dropping next to my house, not so sure if studying is a priority or a possibility at this point, please delay the exams.

I hear the missiles everyday with them landing close to my house. I would like to not take the exam. We are studying under extraordinary conditions we have no control over. Please be reasonable

I have many Persian friends and go to a school in the uae, never in my life have a had less motivation or will to study because it feels like ethereal world is ending and that there are bigger problems Many people I know have not been eating, drinking water, or sleeping and I find it insane that at this time they are expected to do final exams.

I highly feel that the IB Exams 2026 ought to be cancelled. Our learning and concentration has been seriously impaired by the war and the tension that is always there. Safety has been a concern to many students and everything around us distracts them and thus makes studying very hard. And that is not all, switching to online education has complicated the adequate perception of the lessons and the ability to cope with the workload. The IB exams are meant to represent two years of constant learning yet in this year it has been anything but normal. This is very unjust to ask students to give their best after several months of distraction and stress and less learning. Think about the extent to which this situation has impacted the students and consider the cancelling of the exams or use of fair alternative.
