This to to bring to the attention of the West Bengal Rowing Association Committee certain grievances that the rowers of Bengal are facing and to seek immediate redressal.

This is an earnest request to all of you to support us in convincing WBRA committee to send a team for the Open Nationals to be held at Pune, 2018 from the 17th to 22nd December.
For those who don't know, for Bengal to qualify for National Games (to be held in Goa, 2019) it is important to at least place in the top 8 in the Open Nationals. *THE EVENTS IN THE NATIONAL GAMES ARE 500M AND 1000M. EVERYBODY HAS A CHANCE OF WINNING A _NATIONAL GAME MEDAL_.* However if a team is not sent for Open Nationals, none of us will have a change to participate in National Games which is a once in a lifetime opportunity!
Bengal has 4 rowing clubs with a 200+ rowers, investing a lot of money into rowing equipment and facilities every year. However it will be a shame if the rowers of Bengal are denied the chance to even compete at national events and fall victim to dirty politics. This petition is to urge the committee to let rowers explore their potential and at least get the opportunity to fight for medals.
The defending gold medalists (Aishwarya Krishnan and Shreya R Iyer) are also being denied the chance to even give trials in their event. As prospective medal winners, a medal at these Senior Nationals can help all rowers of Bengal as well by putting the state in the top 8, and only the top 8 states can go for National Games. Thus by denying them the chance, they are squashing all hopes for Bengal.
OUR PLEDGE-
SEND A BENGAL TEAM FOR THE SENIOR NATIONALS AND NATIONAL GAMES.
