Are you speaking as a Native person? I haven’t met a single native student either at SKC or other universities to expect things be handed to them, as a native student myself I’ve worked very hard to get where I’m at and don’t expect anything from anyone. Everyone has developed their own opinions about the current administration and multiple people have run into problems with the current president. There is a difference between “complaining” and voicing one’s concerns. If SKC falls apart because the same people have been running it for 20+ years then good, that means there is room for growth, room for change. Which should constantly be happening to better accommodate to native students and faculty and staff to make SKC the safest work and learning environment.

Everyone is seeing the negative choices from the administration from the most recent years? Which would be from the president. There are some administrators being slandered for no reason. They’ve been there for 20+ years. Everyone is talking about how the college has gone to sh!t in the last couple years. Obviously that with with the newer administrators. If someone of these people being slandered were removed from SKC.. SKC would fall apart because they have been helping run SKC for 20+ years. Most of those complaining are people were not just handed things because of their blood. Yes this is a tribal college and everyone expects it to be ran by tribal members and good one at that.. BUT that means those who are complaining actually have to work for. Those Complaining about teachers being fired, do you know the reason why they were fired? We’re they actually doing their jobs? Why would they continue to pay teachers or workers if they don’t want to actually do their JOB.
Another issue is natives believe because this is a native college they should just be handed the positions and that they don’t have to actually do the work necessary. We think being native, we should just be handed everything at SKC. It doesn’t matter who you are or who you think you are. You still have to work and actually try.
All of the complainers don’t know what it takes to run SKC and it shows. Just because this one individual didn’t get what she wanted she starts a petition that could potentially ruin one or more individuals lives. Everybody has their side of the story BUT instead of listening to other people’s words and slandering these individuals, why don’t you actually get your own opinion.

Why is Rachel Andrews Gould teaching? I dropped SKC and drive to FCC which sucks but I needed school with REAL teachers. The good teachers started leaving in 2018

I had a cousin that went to school at SKC. He lived in housing, they outlawed smudging. I could not believe SKC called itself a tribal college?

I know of good people working there. Seems they are becoming more unhappy. Why has this happened? The president doesn’t seem to have the leadership skills. Why can’t she be replaced? Hasent she had enough time to improve things there? Where does tribal council stand on this?

ZEN needs to go, she uses her manipulative ways to get her way. She’s the devil herself, and yes I also agree to let Racheal Gould to go as well. SKC is lost and needs to bring back the people that they let go. Tina needs to come back and bring SKC to what it was before.
