Replace Showrunner/Executive Producer Rick Eid on NBC's "Law & Order"

Let go of Jamie Gray Hyder and Demore Barnes. Fire Kelli Giddish. Drop Molly Burnett. Drop Juliana Aíden Martinez. Drop Octavio Pisano. Anthony Anderson doesn't sign new contract. Sam Waterston departs, Camryn Manheim follows. Jeffrey Donovan parts due to creative differences. Mehcad Brooks mutually purusing other opportunities. 7 showrunners on L&O: OC. None of this change helps anything but them save money. They should be blowing money to deliver the best. Change the showrunner on this show and let us see what comes of it. Can't get worse.

Nolan Price might be the worst character on primetime television right now.

The era of season 5-10 and Jerry O's last 2 seasons and of course the "second age" 18-20 were the best seasons hands down. Whoever was in charge of the show understood the assignment. I hope change can be made otherwise I'll just be watching the reruns. You can keep this version. I liked Reid Scott and Mehcad Brooks together but after that it's very bland. Never liked the court side of the show. Sam should have stayed and Tony been the Sr. ADA but I guess bad writing likely would mess that up too.

I have watched these shows since the 2000s. SVU was my first, then CI and then I got hooked into the main version. Jerry Orbach, Sam Waterston and Epatha Merkerson had me hooked in. When Sam came back, he came back different in this version we have now. I don't know if it's because he got older or the material was watered down. Then I saw him in Gracie & Frankie and that’s when I knew, his material wasn't the same. I can't watch it with Hugh Dancy and Tony Goldwyn, they don't have the same gravitas anymore. Baxter is Fitz-lite (see Scandal). They need to clean house and start over, but it might be too late! We still have the original 20 seasons!

This show is deplorable. Period. It's why Mehcad Brooks left. Nothing else to be said.

I don't know what's happening with Mr. Wolf and the various writing staffs on his shows but between Law & Order OG and Chicago Fire, the writing is in serious decline. I stopped watching before Camryn Manheim departed, and I understand why she did. She is marvelous and if you haven't seen her in The Practice, I recommend the watch! But that's why she left, the writing is so stale. I'm surprised Hugh Dancy is staying by choice, this is like the most dull role he's ever done. I hope it gets better so I can watch it again, but it seems that Wolf and NBC want costs cut so much, it's cut the quality. At least SVU got better this year with Michelle Fazekas coming back.

I'm a dedicated long time viewer of the Law and Order franchise and I'd like to express my gratitude for for the incredible impact this show has made on my life. I've seen episode numerous times. It's hard to put into words how comforting this show is to me, even the intro and the famous "Dun Dun". It makes me feel safe, particularly SVU but I love them all. SVU saved my life. It gave me the courage to face the man who molested me when I was 11. I have healed because of SVU, and I've learned so much from the other incredible shows, like Criminal Intent and the mothership. What I've lived about the L&O franchise is something that sets it apart because of it's truly masterful combination of intelligent writing and it's amazing performances. Jack McCoy, Goran and Eames, Van Buren Briscoe, Schiff, Cragen, Kincaid, etc. This show is so important to me and I've seen people come and go but I'd really like to see RICK EID replaced as the showrunner because he's ruined your show. All of the actors like Tony Goldwyn, Maura Tierney, Hugh Dancy, Odelya Halevi, and Reid Scott are wonderful. Tony Goldwyn is a standout actor. But your show lacks direction due to weak writing, not any of the actors's performances. I actually find Tony Goldwyn having chemistry with Peter Scanavino and Mariska Hargitay. Many of narrative inconsistencies come from abrupt character changes that prioritize plot twists over legal procedures. The worst narrative inconsistencies came from how the show handles the departures of the cast and characters. Since the reboot they've written out main characters without an explanation for closure. Mehcad Brooks disappeared without an explanation, OH NO that's right, it was a mutual decision

"Battered Banker Syndrome?" That is how I know there is nothing but foolishness being crafted now lol! But seriously they need to do better. They acting like content creators, churn out content wether it's good or bad just to say you're doing something. It's how most of them fail!

My family is from the UK, we came here in 2011 and fell utterly in love with the show's reruns as well as the version we had back home on 1. I think mum had a crush on Bradley Walsh and now Hugh Dancy! But what they are showing today is not Law & Order. More like "Politics & Opinions: Ripped from the paper unit" The 2 crown prosecutors are seldom making legal arguments unless it fits some kind of narrative. We can only pray things get better and whomever is in charge is listening. Both to the fans and their wallets. Low viewers equals low money. I wonder what budget constraints are different here versus back home in London?

I'll admit, I love the show being back, but it has not felt the same since it did. No offense to Eid himself, but I would have no problem if they did replace him. His writing style seems biased and there's not really a middle ground in the stories. Not only that, there's no humanity in the characters. Nothing we could really laugh about, nothing to make wisecracks on, etc. It seems like it's one-dimensional from both sides in the show.

Worst producer of any show ever. FBI was probably his best project and that's not saying much. I'm surprised after what he did with SVU that Wolf and NBC even let him touch another Law and Order show. Guess loyalty, loyalty, loyalty = complicity and a pay day? Dun dun.

I haven't forgotten that he told fans of CPD to basically forget about Lindsay and Alvin. Feel how you want about Sophia Bush, I'm glad she left CPD. They didn't deserve her and she deserved better. I have not watched LO since the 1st ep. back.

My name is Martin Goore and I am signing this petition in good faith for change on Law & Order. I don't necessarily want someone to lose their job as much as I want the network or creator Wolf to step in and make changes. Or keep Eid as an EP but bring someone else in to actually run it. Like with L&O: LA, Blake Masters started out running the show and then Wolf/NBC called Balcer in when they saw it was in a downward spiral (too late by the time he got there, damage was done). It definitely needs change. It's like the new series writers don't have any real world experience outside of corporate livelihood and current events. Guess those are their stories?

We loved this show back in 2010. Stopped liking it when it came back in 2022. Why fix something that wasn't broken?

Wolf and NBC could bring any number of those OC showrunners he let get away from him run the L&O mother ship. They were definitely better writers. I believe John Shiban (OC seasons 4 and 5, which were great) was a staff writer or co-producer or something back in season 12. Network television landscape has changed anyway with all the budget cutting and views going to streaming services that have more popular names and convenience.

The worst I've ever seen this show. I knew it was bad when they had Jeffrey Donovan playing a racist cop. Hugh Dancy wasting his career was not on my bingo card, Nolan Price is probably the worse role he's ever done. Such a bland character. Or either it's Dancy's portrayal w/ holding the America accent since he's British. Maybe changing the writers is the only way we will know. Hate to see someone lose their job, but if they aren't doing it?

These episodes do not represent the people. They represent what is on the 24 hour news cycle. You can not write episodes to talk points, it will always be one-sided and tone-deaf. It is not benefiting the audience or the actors and actresses participating. I feel great sorrow for everyone in hopes that this will help us achieve a better show. If we do not lose it first to bad press and ratings.

I have been watching Wolf's work since his days on Miami Vice in the 1980s, pre Law & Order. I'm very surprised he's allowing this to make it on television. Guess he's changed like the times, or he's so rich now it's of no consequence to him. He needs to replace some writers in his Chicago brand too. But broadcast television is changing. The good writers and producers have gone to shows on streaming services.

Horrible show now. Just horrible. Did they fire the consultants and the legal advisors or something?! When I heard them keep repeating "battered banker syndrome" I knew something was wrong. It's liable to be canceled before they clean it up.
