Replace Showrunner/Executive Producer Rick Eid on NBC's "Law & Order"

The crossover just aired last week. It's like it just gets worse and worse. I've been Googling, trying to understand the downfall of this great television series. Glad to know it's something that's only because of 2022. I never felt the same of the original run from 1990-2010. I might just stay there and forget this one.

Fire him immediately.

Gone are the glory days of great writing/dialogue, acting and story lines! So disappointed in what this show has become. Bring back former writers. Overhaul the cast.

We use old episodes of this show in our criminal law class. We don't show any of the new episodes because they are not portraying the law with the same accuracy. Half of the cases they try wouldn't even make it to arraignment, much less trial. The cases would be tossed out on lack of evidence and the attorneys would likely be demoted down to staffers. Like seriously, in the real world, Nolan Price and Sam Maroun would not make it.

I think that's exactly what Dick Wolf and NBC were thinking. Break TV records with episodes. Who needs gripping and captivating stories we can relate to? Who needs star power? Messed up.

Eww. Just eww. I knew it was messed up when 2 USA Network lead actors both departed. Jeffrey Donovan was Burn Notice and Mehcad Brooks was Necessary Roughness. The writers must be 20 year olds or it's done by ChatGPT.

Season 18 of Svu was probably the worst until the last couple of seasons. I stopped watching Chicago PD because the tone of the show changed so noticeably, plus Sophia Bush had left. Gave Law and Order 2 chances, in season 21 and 23 when it was announced Waterston was leaving. Haven't looked back. Wolf and NBC don't care, they're making their money. Quantity over quality is what it is.

It's time for a new one. Wolf and NBC typically turn these shows over like every other year or so. Look at what Meloni's Organized Crime went through. In fact if it comes back, they're going to need one. Maybe Eid goes to OC and someone else runs OG?

He was hired on a writing staff during the first run that had to be dismissed. Then they put him in charge of SVU which was met with backlash. Then he goes to Chicago PD where there is more backlash. Dick Wolf needs to better examine who is "soilders" are in his company. I would think they would be concerned with the future of their empire of shows?

The ball really was dropped with this one. It is quite the balagan. I do not know how NBC can fix this one at this stage without us not only changing the writing staff, but NBC may tell creator Wolf and his team to replace cast members, remember Law & Order: Los Angeles? This show hasn't been right since Orbach left and died.

They've made me hate Hugh Dancy. Well not him but Nolan Price. The new episodes are horrible! I'll stick to SVU.

Rick Eid has is RUINING this legendary show. It deserves better, the actors deserve better and the viewers deserve better. This is the mothership of the Law and Order shows. Strengthen this show, it is the backbone of the Law and Order franchise This show is epic, please don't let Rick Eid destroy it. It needs the energy of the original mothership

I think it's really time to put an end to these shows. They are never going to recapture the magic they once had unless these networks and producers are willing to spend the money to make it so. It's why so many popular names and shows are on streaming; a looser budget but it comes with shorter filming schedules and episode counts and less likely to get television syndication. We have the original 20 years, unless they fix this version, we still have 456 classic episodes. DUN DUN!

The atrocious writing is why Mehcad Brooks left. Who are these people? Did they ever see an old episode of the show? Or an episode of L.A. Law or Perry Mason even? Jeez these guys suck! I can't believe Wolf and NBC are putting up with what is tantamount to gross incompetence and negligence. Demote these people or I pass on this show after 25 seasons.

How do you mess up a 20 year series' formula? Seriously how?! Since when does Law & Order do personal like SVU does? I guess they can't write and deviate within the formula well enough for every week so they do melodrama. Ryan Eggold and Reid Scott were great, but the last episode was more season finale like than like the 6th episode into the new season. Let us not break something that wasn't broken before.

Cancel it and go back to the drawing board.

This show needs the jaws of life. Because it has definitely crashed.
