Students should have the right to wear what they desire as long as it’s morally acceptable. It’s our right

Uniforms cost a lot and it’s too much trouble trying to look for some. Not every store has a lot of it. I can buy cheaper clothes and than uniforms. We should have the right to vote. I don’t know how uniforms help or will make a difference. Uniforms won’t stop bullying or other violence in schools. We as parents need to educate good ethics and morals to our kids. I don’t agree on uniforms especially if a kid doesn’t wear one for him to be punished for it. Kids go through so many clothes. A parent told me only once a year or when school starts you can find the uniforms. Not everyone has innernet or can always travel out of town to purchases them.

Vote for no uniforms. Everyone should have a choice, of what they would like to wear. That is part my child showin his individuality.

Regardless if the goal is met, ignore the people that are being Debbie downers. I wish the school board would’ve done this during my schooling days. The amount of money my folks spent was crazy. My kids went through both systems. First was public education and then private. It saved me a whole lot of money and the kids didn’t cry over it. The kids still have their own identity/personality at school. Just a lot of invalid point of views. Also, make sure that you do spend the money to hire great teachers. Perhaps the school board members need to take a pay cuts to make that happen.

A Public School has no need for uniforms. These uniform requirements will not be readily available for parents to purchase. The school made this choice without the input of the parents.

Former PBTISD teacher here. When I taught there, they just started implementing shaving and pants codes. There were a good deal of my seniors that dropped out of school just because they didn't want to shave. With the quality of the staff at PBTISD, there's not much keeping many of the kids there. How many kids will drop out when they refuse to come to school in a getup they see as embarrassing? As adults, we can see down the tunnel of time to realize that the clothes you wear won't matter in 10 years, but for juniors and seniors who aren't thinking beyond next week, much less next year, a change of dress it all it takes for them to drop out. The same thing happened when off campus lunches were taken away, or when the school got onto kids who's parents brought them lunch. I could make a very lengthy message out of all this and explain exactly how this gives the school money, but to make it short, at least on the lunch portion, it was all about having kids each school lunches so that the school could weasel some more tax money into their pockets to make up for mismanagement. Anyway, you can do this whole uniform deal, but don't expect to not encounter some losses along the way. I guarantee you, at least 5% of seniors will drop out over this, in addition to the continuation of the policies they introduced in the years prior.

Deomocracy or Fascism??? What about Education? All this time and energy wasted over close.. how does this further our childrens education, I mean isn't that the main objective?! Seems we have lost sight of truth and are frightening for personal agendas that dont have anything to do with quality education!
