The town of BeechMountain has treated Pinnacle Inn homeowners like second class citizens for way too long. Pinnacle Inn funds over a half $1 million a year to the town in taxes. Let’s repeal the budget as a starting point.

It is unconscionable that the Town of Beech Mountain has irresponsibly increased our taxes far above the increase in any services provided. This increase must be dramatically rolled back!

Part-time resident. Beech already has a reputation in the High Country for being highly-taxed. Retract this budget move and find ways to raise revenue in the leisure/tourism sector (not homeowners). George Bush, 1988: "Read my lips, no new taxes."

This increase is not justified. I own at Pinnacle Inn which is the highest paying entity on the mountain, not to mention the amount of Occupancy Taxes we pay for our short-term rentals. It would make more sense for the Town to share in the Occupancy Tax instead of penalizing individual property owners.

An increase of 50% in property taxes should be illegal! As a non resident, I pay the taxes without being able to vote for the jokers that implement them. Didn't we leave Britian because of taxation without representation. The City Counsel does NOT care about the people of Beech Mountain. Everything is increasing due to inflation, including but not limited to: insurance, food, gas, electricity, travel, maintenance and now the people hired to act in the best interests of the people of Beech Mountain have betrayed them. They could have lowered the millage rate to a break even budget, but they wanted a surplus so they could have a blank check to do as they please. These morons must be recalled.

Town Counsel is OUT OF CONTROL! Mayor Barry said when running for Mayor he would make BEECH Better, but this is NOT THE WAY!!!

Is there any updates on what the town council plans to do re: excessive taxation this year? Jimmy A. tried to change his vote but the lawyer on council said he could not. There needs to be some type of relief for the elderly who must still work to meet these increases. What can be done?

Council is the same as all the other governments. They don’t care about the people they are suppose to be serving just how much money they can put in their pockets.
