This law is an absolute violation of my rights. First, I have never committed a crime involving a gun, and my domestic charges stem from a girlfriend who thought she should lie to ruin my career. Well, here I sit 12 years later still without my rights. I’m over this. Please write your congressmen and women weekly. Call them, keep them in the know. Let them know if they truly support the 2nd Amendment, they will abolish this law that should have never been passed in the first place!!

As Justice Thomas observed, this is the only case of Constitutional rights being revoked because of a misdemeanor! Yes, Lautenberg is Draconian!!

Young and dumb and couldn't afford a lawyer so pleaded no contest with no consequence (since my only crime was being the male) 3 years prior to the law.. I know, no law shall be passed ex post facto but... there ya go

24 years in the US Army and then someone accuses you of something and then you get punished for life for something you didn’t do.

10 years ago I made a mistake and was charged with a misdemeanor. The State of California sentenced me to 18 days of jail, anger management and a fine. 10 years later I have long since paid my debt to society. I now have a family and cannot provide protection in my own home possibly for life. I have not had any run ins with the police ever since. The law needs to be fixed.

This Lautenberg law needs to be eliminated or limited. This should not be a strip your gun privileges for life punishment. Something you could've done as a immature teenager should not still plague and prevent your privileges when you're in your mid 30's or 40's especially if you haven't gotten in any trouble since

Amend this bill to restore all rights after a period of time already set by many states.

I was falsely accused of assaulting an ex 5 years ago. I defended myself from being assaulted by grabbing her wrists. My voice was ignored and I was convicted. I was in the process of joining the military at the time, obviously that did not happen. The older I've gotten the more passionate I've become about joining but, it will not happen because of this amendment. Something needs to change.

I was convicted of a misdemeanor domestic battery. I've never been arrested for any violent crimes I did not do anything to Warrant being arrested for the domestic battery and onlooker thought she saw something going on, and call the police. My wife at the time told the police officers that I done nothing and she wasn't pressing charges. They said that's too bad the State's Attorney's office is already picked it up since we had to come to your house.

Speaking to an ATF agent via phone told me this law is too broad. It needs to be repealed or adjusted for case-by-case basis! We are slowly losing our rights for everything with no recourse to fix our futures!!!!!
