Charter Schools are a rip-off: Takes Funds from our Public School Students; has little, if any, accountability for Student Progress; too many have gone bankrupt and left our Students in the dark!

Our successful Affiliated Charter School has bullied students not to attend the meetings. The staff told parents "not to bother" to attend the Governance meetings where many money decisions are decided. I am very disappointed that our school holds these meetings when working parents can't attend. They make big decisions without polling the parents or Teachers. They only ask the "parent representatives" and the "teacher representatives" to vote on their constituents behalf. Of course, both of those groups are very friendly with the administration, so votes just happen to go the way the administration wanted. It's a huge issue.

Keep public school public! Our children are not for sale!

Stop the student segregation that charters are creating in poor communities.

Charter schools weaken our public education system. Some schools do have problems and they need to be fixed for the benefit of all not slowly defunded. (There are many cases where chartered schools did not provide classes or services that they promoted, do we have the resources to regulate them?) Educate our children, provide good wages and benefits for the teachers of our children, create a wholesome community for all of those who reside, teach tolerance and Support Public Education.

Stop using tax money to charter schools that have no accountability.

There is a place in our system for charter schools, but too many of them are cheating the system and stealing top students and dollars from public schools. If a charter decides in October that a child "is not the right fit" then the state funds for that child should move to the public school that is bound to receive him or her. Repeal Prop 39 to prohibit districts from moving charter schools onto campuses with active public schools in operation. Public schools should not be forced to share space with the very charter schools that are robbing them of resources.

Education should NEVER be a for-profit venture. Stop charter schools NOW.

Privatizing is destroying Public education and do not believe school should not be run by profit charters.

Thank you. After what has happened in Nevada, I see the complete destruction of our public education system unless people wake up, get informed, and put a stop to it.

Stop Privatizing Public Schools

I am against the privatization of public education. PERIOD. I am a registered voter and I vote. I am against criminal fraud and malfeasance and misappropriateion of public money.

I do not believe schools should be run by for profit charter management organizations. Charters have not shown to benefit students, only to segregate them and take power from parents.

They are both a financial and educational non accountable fraud, especially in California. All you have to do is read the Federal Dept. of Education study on the total failure of charter schools in Florida, Arizona and California at every level and my knowledge of this over 25 years gives me the documents to prove it.

This is their way of busting up the California Teachers Association. The right wing is going state by state destroying teachers unions and all unions in the U.S.
