I am a retired special ed. educator in SF. School District. Can you guess what the ruling rich has done to public ed? They have stolen billions from us to educate our children, and then they have to nerve to blame us if we lack resources, teachers, supplies, and I could go on and on. Karen Schieve

ALL children deserve an excellent education. For-profit charter management organizations that serve a select subset of students, while leaving those most difficult to educate in schools which they have sucked the resources from do not share that goal. Charters are not accountable to the community as they have no elected board. This is the wrong model for education.

Charter schools are phony, elite and fraudulent institutions and should be cut off from all federal monies. Public school education is fine and works if has the proper and important funding that is required by Federal Law. Arnie Duncan, the Secretary of Education is a good buddy friend of President Obama and cannot even speak English. His policies are a threat to civil society and he should be removed from office. I attended public schools in NYC and have a BFA MFA . Charter Schools are unnecessary and are destroying jobs held by educated teachers and all others who provide excellent care for all our children.

Charters schools in Livermore have become an excellent way to leverage public school money for private sector gain.

West Contra Costa USD is under a fast moving hostel Charder takeover. We have 52 school sites and have a large amount in Local Controled Funding, and have a large amount in Free and Reduced students. The Charters are suing us for our Bond monies and are taking over our District. We are in the battle of our life to keep our schools public.
