Eye I believe the North used tactics.against the citizens of the South, where General Lee wouldn't allow the Southern troops to do the same because Lee was Gentleman, and the Federal troops would take all of the.citizens, and farmers food, lifestyle, anything they could get their hands on, to starve, murder, and rape the citizens of the South.

My GGGGrandfather was hanged in his own yard at the age of 70. Because his only two sons were fighting for CSA. Burned his house and barn
