I am one of those many pilots in the U.K. who has flown many times to this important and stunning Island and I am in support of surfacing the runway to keep it open to the outside world and to bring in economic benefits to the locals.

I have been travelling to the Island multiple times every year for 51 years and never seen it so bad. My father had a heart attack there and had to be flown off in September. If the flight hadn't been able to take off, he would have died. Please stop looking for fancy options and just make the runway safe. It has worked well as is for over half a century and many smaller islands around the world work very well with less

Common sense dictates that if the runway needs repaired to continue use, then repair it!

As someone who's a friend of a resident who's life was saved through medical air evacuation, I know how vital this resource to the lovely folk of this island. It must be maintained in a full and fit order for commercial aviation.

I visit Alderney every year. A reliable runway is essential for residents and visitors. It must be kept in excellent condition. This is a no-brainer!

I have several times flown myself to Alderney. Lovely spot to which airborne access must be maintained for emergencies so that the population can be safe. The runway repair and maintenance must be supported for that reason.

Tremendous sympathy for all on the island who have been so badly served for so long by the politicians of both Alderney and Guernsey

Dont let another community die, because a bureaucrat pushing a pen cannot see outside his office door. Sometimes you have to see the wood for the trees. We spend fortunes on road improvement schemes and bicycle lanes, but something as simple as a runway resurface is ignored, because people dont see that with one mile of runway you can travel a million miles.

This has been long overdue. I feel Guernsey States have & are failing Alderney residents & the island as a whole.
I totally agree it's ONLY the runway that needs repairing. We don't not need money wasted on updating the actual Airport/car park. Why fix something thats not broken! That is part of what makes Alderney unique..
FOCUS on the runway ONLY!
