I called Carter's office recently both to voice my concerns about issues and to ask about town halls. The staffer made it very clear that Carter did not agree with me on the issues. In my follow-up call to ask about the town hall, I was informed that he does not publicize it and that if I gave my name and email address that I *might* be reached out to when it happens, and that if I called again on the issues I would get the same answer every time.
Why is Carter not making events public? Why do I have to get on a list to be informed about them? What assurance do I have that I will even be informed at all?

Where are you, Carter? You have constituents that you fail to represent!

I am in District 31 and would definitely like this to happen. You do not represent me Mr. Carter.

I have listened to your town hall meetings you conduct by phone and I find them woefully unsatisfactory. Only constituents that agree with your point of view seem to be given a voice and you speak down to anyone listening that is from another political persuasion. I suggest that you consider a different venue to hear from your constituents that you represent in DC.

In the past I have occasionally left you messages- all I ever receive is a standard letter from your office detailing what you believe are your narrow interest "wins". Not once have you ever specifically addressed any point , question, or comment. I am out of patience, and am signing this petition. Either you become responsive to your constituents, or I will work for an opposing candidate,

I'm a cancer patient who will lose healthcare by your hand. Why won't you stand up for me? Why won't you even listen?

Senator Carter, You work for us. We pay your salary and we pay your expenses. The least you can do is listen to your constituents.

I'm a young central Texan who has lived in Carters district longer than he has been in office. I'm trying to become more active in the political process like any good citizen should, but Carter refuses to meet with his constituents. At the same time, he is perfectly ok participating in photo ops and PR stunts. We deserve better than this.

I have attended your telephone town meetings, and found them to be less than useful.
1. You do all the talking. You don't ask questions of callers to clarify and understand their positions. You either support them if you agree with them, or articulate your own position.
2. Rarely, if ever, are people who disagree with your positions allowed to ask questions. Your staff does a very effective job of screening out callers who have differing positions. As a result, the town meetings are more "pep rallies" than an actual opportunity to provide input or feedback.
3. In my opinion, the main constituents your are concerned about reside in the Ft. Hood area. An overwhelming number of callers in your town meetings are veterans. While I agree that we should care about our military personnel, we should not do so at the expense of everyone else.

Please make an effort to be available to your constituents regardless of their political affiliations. You are representing all of us. The current administration's actions and policies are concerning to many in your district. We need you to hear our voices.

Please meet with your constituents to answer questions on several different topics that have transpired since trump took office. Please answer questions regarding your own legislation you are proposing.
Thank You!

I am at a total loss to understand why you continue to ignore your constituents in this district. Please schedule some public meetings as soon as you can so that we can discuss our pressing concerns with you.
