I grew up in Montgomery county, I have witnessed the ingrained and systemic racism that plagues the police force on multiple occasions. I have my own mental illnesses to deal with. At no point during my worst times would the presence of the police have made any of it better. To have an officer with his first instinct to be to draw his firearm, and shoot an unarmed civilian is to have a dangerous and unpredictable element in a situation that calls for descalation and compassion.
The incident needs to be looked into and the officer responsible for a man's death needs to not be part of the police force.
