Rob was a face that was known in the area, he didn’t bother anyone and minded his business!

Robert White was our neighbor, and he was killed next door to where we live. Police de-escalation training and consistent practices should have saved his life, but the police dept clearly needs much reform, and social workers must replace police when interacting with and assisting mentally ill, homeless, and substance-abuse challenged people. We demand the re-opening of the investigation into Robert's death at the hands of a police officer paid to protect and serve, not kill, members of our community.

This instance of police murder terrifies me. I pass by there weekly since 4 people I know live on the same street, the next door apartment building and 2 streets nearby. In the police camera video you see Robert White's neighbor clearly unconcerned as he walked past her. Police work histories must be accessible to citizens. Montgomery County should review current police staff and never hire police with violent racist work records to ensure safe policing. Laws governing police must change now. Jenny Stelloh

The liberal bubble is a myth. Protect Black lives- they are deserving. They are loved. They matter.

Robert White was my neighbor. It's outrageous that an unarmed man taking a daytime stroll in his own neighborhood can get killed by a police officer with no consequences for the officer. Robert White was doing NOTHING illegal or suspect. He was merely Walking-While-Black. We need justice!

Robert White asked to be left alone but was harassed, and on the basis he was a Black man walking down a street. The police interaction was completely unacceptable.

The police did not have to interact with Mr. White at all. Once they did, they were aware he had issues and should have called a crisis intervention team, but I really don't see why they even interacted!

His life mattered. His death is part of a pattern of police brutality and racism here in Montgomery County.
