This is ridiculous. Will they be closing Riverwalk and Canal Place as well? Full body searches at Saints games? This is ridiculous. Why not close the Bourbon Street mall where violence and death are a real, daily threat?

The small space that is blocked on Royal is NOT a security concern. Please don't let terrorists win, and ruin what New Orleans is.

I have no idea why the city would do something so backwards and hurtful. The systematic destruction of some of the most wonderful traditions in the city are starting to get old. New Orleans is loud, slow, drunk, dirty, beautiful, divine, and most of all LOUD, in case you didn't catch it. Walking down the street and being able to jump right in dancing to local music is one of the best parts of going out. Walking to work is a joy. Keep it that way.

We were there recently. We stayed and walked around in the French Quarter for the street musicians. The closed off Royale street with the musicians at each block is the main reason for us to return.

Strolling on Royal St and listening to the performers and watching the world go by is one of the best parts of the French Quarter for visitors -please bring it back!

Please reopen Royal St as a pedestrian mall. I am a tourist and was just there in October when it was open. There is nothing better than walking down the street listening to the live music, strolling into shops, and just enjoying the city. It was one of the best memories I have from this trip. I have visited the city many times and the Quarter and Royal St is at its best when you can enjoy it leisurely. Thank you
