Lots of musicians in New Orleans , myself included, make a significant portion of their income performing for tips on Royal street. Tourists come from around the world to see these performers and it would be a huge loss for the city's vibrant music culture to outlaw these performances.

Listening to the musicians like Tuba Skinny and Yes Maam on Royal Street is the best feature of the French Quarter and New Orleans. Closing the pedestrian mall lets the terrorists win and destroys a major New Orleans tourist attraction.

Sorry NOPD but you are just plain wrong in this decision. You don't need more cars in the Quarter. You need tourists, like me, that love to wander and stop and listen to music. REOPEN ROYAL STREET.
