This is a bogus "security" move, there's no threat to Royal other than that of out of control developers. Reopen the Pedestrian Mall on Royal Street!

Open it! Musicians' lives depend on it and it is a wonderful part of the French Quarter. It almost balances out the filth of all kinds on Bourbon Street.

As stated in the petition, this actually makes the City LESS safe. The reasoning also rings hollow when an arguably larger "target," namely Bourbon Street, remains as a pedestrian mall in the evenings.
