You've shut down one of the things that makes the French Quarter not only beautiful to stroll through, but allows the musicians and performers that give New Orleans its spirit to reach a larger audience. The reasoning behind this action is questionable at best - and since when has New Orleans ever let fear get in the way of a good time?

I lived in New Orleans for many years. Now a resident of Switzerland, I cannot wait to move back, but I fear the New Orleans is losing too much of what makes it special. This is one of the best things about New Orleans. The closure serves no purpose, as I know that the buskers must keep a traffic lane open so that officers may have unimpeded access to the 8th district station.
Bring back the buskers!

Ending this pedestrian mall without the input of the very citizens that utilize it is a mistake.
