Gotta keep the Royal Street pedestrian zone for the great entertainment and culture. Would sooner you let traffic up Bourbon Street any day. What does the City Council prefer - classy Royal or smelly Bourbon?

As cities throughout the world are preserving pedestrian city centers, New Orleans needs to live up to its world class status as a center for music, art, and street life. The artists and musicians who work on Royal Street are collectively professional and authentic. We will speak out to save the detractors from themselves, for truly they know not what they do and would through the baby out with the bath water.

Very bad decision.....walking along Royal Street listening to street bands and watching other street performers without fear of being hit by a vehicle is one of the joys of NOLA my husband and I love about this city. Please reopen it permanently.

The decision to shut down the pedestrian mall is based on reactive, fear based "logic"; if the same logic were applied to the rest of the city's calendar we would not have French Quarter Fest, Jazz Fest and Mardi Gras.

Pedestrian mall is good for all businesses, just ask me, the guy who has worked both sides of this situation. You stroll down Royal to experience a part of New Orleans, the best part!
