This was an off-road crossroads of capoiera, Brazilian culture, dance, and community. Reconnected with friends from Brasil, Jamaica, Europe, and various US cities at Culture Yard events. Would be elated to see its revival!!

This community floor space was a very unique one. The energy that permiated this space was completely breathtaking. The painting of the ancestors in the amazon overlooking its guest was always a calming and reassuring reminder that you were in a safe place to express your inner movements. Long Live the Culture Yard! Support Human Culture and physical expression. Not office space! Bring in the ritual space!!! Axe meu irmao.

As a practitioner of capoeira I have known Instrutor Rebelde for about 7 years. I admire what he built at Culture Yard and look forward to seeing the community rebuilt and stronger than ever!
