The doctrine of dependancy on male authority for God's protection is a superstition and false doctrine, which the Bible contradicts and corrects.

New Testament injunctions for female (voluntary) submission are there for the identical reason as slave submission. Peter tells both that they may live as "free" (in Christ"), but since they are legally "bound" to male masters, they have to submit themselves for the sake of secular Roman Law (1 Pet 2:16-18; 3:1) and so as not to discredit their Christian witness (1 Pet 2:12-15). Paul agrees (Tit 2:5). Christ has set the captives FREE: male and female, masters and slaves, Jew and non-Jew have equal rights, status, inheritance and functions in Christ's Body!

The Gospels tell us, Jesus regarded women equal to men. My favorite verses make this abundantly clear for example, in Luke 10: 38-42 where there can be no doubt about a woman’s place in the eyes of the Lord as contrasting to the men and women of the time!
It is time for the church to respect and honor women as Christ did and teach our male children their female counterparts are their equals!

My former church did nothing to help me when I found myself in a psychologically and emotionally abusive marriage with an unrepentant man. I speak with women daily who are suffering because of their church's ignorance in dealing with abuse in their congregations. It has to stop.

I had to get a doctorate in theology before people took me seriously. I have worked as a pastor for 30 years- no salary! Why? Cos they think my husband is the bread winner. We serve an awesome God, He has blessed me beyond what man could do

As a woman who speaks out about the real freedom offered to us in Christ, I find myself maligned and insulted by men who assume that the world would come to an end if they stop restricting women from using their gifts. I don't like to throw this back at them, but maybe they need to hear this more often.

Women have got God's calling,talents which can as well build the kingdom of God. Ones they are intimidated or limited to some level or position,seemingly the church loose part of the growth of the church. They should be allowed to witness holistically. Thanks
