Petitions accomplish nothing, but I'm honored to add my name to this one nonetheless.

"25Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 NOT SO WITH YOU. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” --Matthew 20:25-28

Make dominance always ends on abuse. This is harming our families, churches and our nation.

I renounce these traditional teachings. I will follow Jesus' example to treat women as equals with men!

Women are equals in creation and we should be treated as such.

Why stop at "biblical" traditions? Go all the way and say stop any traditions that degrade anyone!

Those who maintain these traditions are harming women because of a traditional way of interpreting a few verses of Scripture, which is an insufficient justification for injustice.

The bible has women's words, examples of women leaders, and it is wrong to claim otherwise. Reading scriptures out of context is abusing scriptures, which leads to abusing women and standing in the way of their fulfilling God's calling.

The Lord Jesus, who has all authority in heaven and earth, sets women free!

Jesus is our standard, and since Jesus did not commit women to husbands, or to males, and because Jesus did not deny women anything based on their being women, then we cannot in good stewardship of the gospel, do so either.

Because my God did not call me to live in chains, not even in chains of command. Because my husband should not be the idol someone forces me to kneel before.

I have been of this issue for over 25 years, and I support this wholeheartedly. It has made things very difficult for us at times, as we won't support a church that restricts the gifts of women. I will gladly stand before God about this.
