Renew Ms. Do's Contract as Principal of St. Linus

Thank you everyone for your support! Some amazing things have happened since this petition opened. Here are some updates: We had 111 out of 134 St. Linus School families sign a letter in support of Ms. Do We have had over 1100 signatures with over 250 positive comments on our petition supporting Ms. Do We dropped off a binder to both the Archdiocese as well as to Father Eras with evidence of all the amazing things Ms. Do has done for the school and supports the fact that St. Linus School parents want Ms. Do to stay as our principal Parents have been emailing Father Eras requesting a Town Hall Meeting so that we can understand his reasoning for this decision. The PTO has requested a meeting with him and it has been denied. We have even offered to have a meeting with him and someone he feels supports him and one set of parents and he has refused. Parents have also been emailing Bishop Trudeau, Mr. Escala, Ms. Zozaya and Mr. Cuevas (all people who have a part in Ms. Do’s contract) to show support. Lastly, parents are currently filling out a survey that contains questions that will give data to take to the Archdiocese and School District Offices with further evidence to support Ms. Do. Some things you can do to continue to help: Forward the petition to family and friends to sign and show support. To Jason and anonymous, as a true stockholder and parent of St. Linus, I find your interpretation of the facts quite frivolous. We have repeatedly requested a town hall meeting with Fr. Eras to hear his reasoning, yet he has been reluctant to disclose any such reasons. Unless you are Fr. Eras himself, openly admitting these reasons, your opinions are irrelevant and hold no weight. Speculations and assumptions surrounding the non-renewal of Ms. Do’s contract remain invalid until Fr. Eras provides clarity in a public forum. Regarding anonymous’s message, let’s correct some inaccuracies: Ms. Do served for 25 years, not 30. That alone is sufficient to discredit your entire argument. Furthermore, I suggest you educate yourself on what it truly means to fundraise and raise money, as well as compare the costs of other Catholic schools in our area and associated statistics. When something is new, depreciation is inevitable—it’s called wear and tear. Students defacing bathroom stalls, leaving waste, or failing to flush toilets is not a reflection of Ms. Do’s performance. Instead, it speaks to the upbringing and habits instilled in those students at home. I find it troubling that you’ve chosen the condition of the students’ bathroom as one of your primary arguments. Furthermore, it raises questions as to why you are in the students’ bathroom observing and taking note of such details. Placing blame on Ms. Do for these issues grossly overlooks the broader context and disregards her numerous contributions to St. Linus. I strongly encourage both of you to reach out to Fr. Eras and request a town hall meeting. This would provide an appropriate platform to address and discuss all of these concerns in a transparent and constructive manner.

Fr Eras needs to let go of Ms Do for numerous reasons. It’s been almost 30 years and it keeps getting worse. Many students keep leaving the school and teachers also resigned their position. Recently there was a school renovation. It hasn’t even been 1 year and most of the property is damaged. The tables have writing on the sides, the bathroom has vandalism and broken sinks, and the stalls have writing and marks, and in top of that their is students leaving their waste in the toilets and not flushing. The school property keeps being damaged. Their was banner around the grass not to long ago. Many students keep pulling and tearing it so it doesn’t stand anymore. The prices are high as hell. The student council do all the fundraising to take our money and finance. They charge you high fees for little amounts. Hot snack for example. You get one tiny bag of chips for $1.50 when you can go to Sam’s Club and get 50 of them for like $20. And the hot lunch. They charge you $7 for one slice of pizza when you can go to Costco and get a whole one for the same price. Even the jog a thon. They want you to donate $50 just so you can wear free dress for you and a friend. That’s ridiculous. There’s no point and supporting the fundraising just so you can get tiny effort back. The classrooms too! We have been begging Ms Do for air conditioning for 9+ years and she gave it to us and no even a year later it’s literally broken. We had to get luxurious air conditioning in the renovation due to the money we gave to the fundraisers. St Linus School is not a good quality school due to finances, vandalism and lack. This is why Fr Eras needs to let go of Ms Do. We need a new principal who can make the school better and not be a burden. TEAM ERAS✌️✌️

The previous comment about Fr. Eras releasing Ms. Do due to attendance and money is interesting… how does this person know this? Fr. Eras refuses to speak to the school parents, who are the real stakeholders, and tell them his reasoning. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, over 200 comments supporting Ms. Do and only one person who seems to be Team Eras is very telling. We have been a part of the Saint Linus school community for 10 years (through 3 principals) and have never received free shirts. Not sure where this information is coming from but they don’t seem to have their facts straight.

With all due respect, to the previous comment… Many went through economical changes throughout the pandemic. Many didn’t have an option to continue in a private school. This happened in many schools, it is not a fair reflection of Ms. Do’s leadership/choices. Three teachers leaving? Life happens, unless previously stated, I am sure their departure was for other reasons, and not Ms. Do. Someone cannot complain about a $40 shirt, turn around and complain that not enough money is coming in. I believe the number of students is close to 200, so yes, you’re correct, it’s 100+. Yes, less than ideal things may happen, but we need to be able to acknowledge how those things were handled, and in whose best interest. I have only been at St. Linus a few years, but my observation has been that Ms. Do acts in the interest of the students.

Fr Eras isn’t renewing her contract for multiple reasons. Over the pandemic almost 200 students left and. 2 years ago, 3 teachers already left. So many people keep leaving because they do not support it. The prices are really high. The shirts are almost $40 and the old principal gave it out for free. I am not trying to show hate or disrespect. Fr Eras doesn’t see Ms. Do meeting the requirements for the money and educating. A lot of people keep leaving. There was almost 300+ students and now there is only 100+. Again I am not showing hate or discrimination. I am showing I have observed and why Fr Eras isn’t renewed her contract.

If Mrs Do does not stay at St Linus will go in a downward spiral in which at that point I will pull my children out of there

Ms. Do was a key part of my time at St. Linus. She really cares for her students and I am grateful for her support. She truly poured into me as a 6-8th grader.

I pray for Ms. Do’s contract to be renewed. I encourage everyone to continue speaking up for what is right.

One of the best Principal , will be a great loss for St Linus if they will not renew her contract

I strongly support renewing Ms. Do’s contract as principal because of her years of dedication and the lasting impact she has had on Saint Linus. As an alumni, I can personally attest to the influence she and the incredible teachers have had in shaping students like me. Her leadership is invaluable, and losing her would be a great loss to Saint Linus and its community. She has earned the right to continue guiding the school and deserves to remain in this role!

We have been a Saint Linus Family for over 10 years, and have seen first hand the dedication Ms. Do has for Saint Linus School and our children. Over the years she has worn many hats at Saint Linus and in all her roles has been an involved, innovative and a positive force for our school. Losing her would be a tremendous loss for Saint Linus, and we urgently ask for you to renew her contract. It would be a disservice to our children to lose an administrator of this caliber.

She has been an instrumental part of the success of the school community. Without her guidance at the helm St. Linus would not be where it is today. As longtime parishioners and parents of current students we are demanding the archdiocese steps in and does what is right and just. Keep her as principal of this Diamond in a rough school. The community at St Linus school needs her to stay no exceptions or excuses!

Ms. Do was an influential teacher during my time at St. Linus. Almost 10 years ago, she helped foster my academic success, writing letters of recommendation for me, supporting me through my transition to high school, and tutoring me for academic decathlon. She truly has the students’ best interest at heart, and her decision making processes and leadership philosophy places the student at the forefront of all her actions and decisions. Losing her from the Linus family would be a disservice to the community, both past and present.

Ms. Do is the best that ever happened to St. Linus!!! She did more for the school than all of the past and current Pastors in the church!!! It was because of her the school got air conditioning. I say it again, she’s the best that ever happened to the school!
