Choosing any of the finalist names will turn the team (and the city that chose the name) into a laughingstock. Look around at successful sports teams across the country, what are their mascot names? Are there any stud muffins? No. Please, out of respect for the citizens of this community and the team members, do not accept any of the finalist names as the new name of the Binghamton Mets. There are a plethora of other options that are far less shameful.

This is a disgrace! What is wrong with the B-Mets, anyway??? If we have to change the name, let's at least not make us the laughing stock of the world with one of the six "finalists." I can only imagine what the other 1500-odd options were! We should pay homage to something significant like the invention of the flight simulator (Edwin Link, 1929), the carousel (with a name better than the Rumble Ponies or Rocking Horses - note: a rocking horse and a carousel are completely different things), or even the speidies! The Binghamton Speidies! Now that IS a great name!
