Bill was one of a kind in terms of his commitment. He was just as committed at teaching hurdles in the freezing temperatures last year as he was when I was at college a few decades ago. This will be an appropriate tribute to a wonderful man.

Bill was an amazing coach and a great mentor to me and many others over the years, it would be great to rename the track after all the work and dedication he showed to athletics in Yeovil, Somerset and the South West Region!

Bill gave up thousands of hours of his and his wife's time to help Yeovil Olympiads and it's athletes to get it where it is today as the best track club in Somerset and a very good reputation nationally. What a great way to honour his memory in naming the track after him.

Bill taught and coached generations of athletes from Yeovil and the surrounding area, some of whom went on to international level. He was instrumental in bringing fun and achievement into local athletics and I believe the renaming of the Arena would be entirely appropriate and would further his legacy into the future.
