The thing about Knox is that it's not an institution, it's a school which when you go to becomes more of a family and we don't support these pedophiles but we do support Knox and all of its students and the families hence the OKGA and all that it does for old Knox boys. So if you're going to whip out any witty remarks then please don't because you may be airing your view but to all the other people here, we're just hearing a little angry man who doesn't know what he's talking about.

I could have sworn that this post was about changing a building name but correct me if I'm wrong... Also this happened a fair time ago and speaking from experience Knox is still one of the best schools on the North shore and yes it is a 'might fine institution'.

Renaming the centre is only symbolic and comes too little, too late. As an OKG from the 80s, I was aware of rumours surrounding teachers like Vance, Stewart, Nisbett, Fotis and Treloar. However to have other teachers named such as Bruce Barrett and David Degotardi named comes as a shock. I hope the legal system nails Paterson 'to the wall' for the damage he has done! A good next step would be stripping him of his AO.

Excellent idea to remove his name from the building. I would also suggest that the portrait of Paterson hanging alongside previous headmasters should either be destroyed or have a plaque attached recognising his role in perverting the course of justice.

Dan - I doubt that you could ever appreciate the values that the majority of Knox students enjoy. These were instilled in us by our families and our education, and the actions of a small number of disgraceful people cannot undermine that. These values are clearly evident in the fact that more than half of my year (100+ men who left more than 30 years ago) are sharing our thoughts and support for the victims via a FB page. I would doubt you could understand that kind of camaraderie.
