He was one of a kind. I was never a big fan of politics or politicians, but he was one of the people, down to earth. A politician even those like me could admire.

This is sad. A great man. I loved him. He made a huge difference for the town of Boston. When he became mayor, as a graduate student at Emmanuel, I no longer had to take bags of food to the people in park by Fenway. A giant of a man with a compassionate heart. Huge loss.

This would be an honor that Mayor Menino would appreciate. I see no reason why there can not be a park names after him in downtown Boston where he served th people of Boston so well and let a park be named after him in Hyde Park too. He served this city so well amd for so long that two parks would be one of the few way we can remember him.
