Remove the term "nigger" from all of Quebec's natural sites

There are a mass majority of minorities that find this offensive. Please It's time to do the right thing.

It is important for authorities to do the first step so that the population would start to understand how offensive is this word.

Changez-moi ça au plus sacrant. On est en 2015.

How SAD that these things still exist.

The fact that these names remain in 2015 is shameful. The sites should be re-named to honour the contributions to Quebec society of people of colour, indigenous peoples, and immigrants.

Please remove the term!

I support this initiative whole heartedly. Canada is a land of freedom & respect for all. We need to honour those individuals & find their names. Merci!

I never knew this information but I'm very pleased that I know now. I just hope this change to the natural sites comes sooner then later.

Shameful. This should have been changed without a petition having to be put together.

It is never too late to correct an error.

There is no excuse for this.

I realize that some of these place names were not originally meant to be derogatory, and some were even meant to honour people of African origin who were somehow involved with those places. Surely, however, there are ways to do them honour without using what is now a derogatory term? With the negative publicity Quebec has gotten in recent years with language issues and the infamous Charter of Values, we really don't need to be perceived as racist bigots, too, do we?

Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.... Change isn't always bad

I was not aware of this, all these years. Are you not ashamed to using derogatory names for sites, at the hands of those who suffered in these places? I agree there must be more beautiful names of these places. Just as you changed the names of towns and streets in Quebec, this would be a much more kindly and professional thing to do.

Very offensive, just as the nicknames used for French Canadians years ago. I.e. Frenchie. Everyone deserves respect.

Needless discrimination. Please find a more beautiful name for these beautiful places.
