I am just appalled at this! It is incomprehensible that a petition is needed to convince authorities to remove these names. I'd sign this over and over if I could.

Nous ne tolererions pas de symboles ou de noms de riviere nazis mais nous n'oublions pas l'histoire pour autant. Le terme "negre" ne devrait plus etre employe ni banalise...il a une connotation pejorative pour les personnes de couleur noire. Nous devons reconnaitre les blessures historiques ravivees par ces termes toujours employes.

100% agree and strongly would like to know the NAMES of these 2 individuals and see their names in lieu!
A disgrace this should even come to this point and not done so voluntarily by the toponymie groupe.
