Bronze soldiers stand in silence
The vestiges remain
What really does it honor
If what it brings pain
Well written article that explains to anyone who is listening exactly how and why this statue was placed. I pray that it will be taken down peacefully.

These people and actions should not be in places of honor. They are not honorable. They should be in a museum to be studied so we remember and learn from these hateful mistakes made throughout our history.

These relics of hate do not deserve celebration in the public arena. Create a “Park of Hate,” or “Park of Lost Causes,” or “Confederate History of Oppression Park” and move these items with historical accounts of what they actually represent. Here’s an example of a park in Hungary that serves as a historical and educational presentation of the Communist history of the area.

These symbols of hate have no place in my hometown. Treat our history with honesty, rip out the hate and make space for healing, justice, and love.
