Our beat, 433, was without a facilitator for a long length of time. In mid 2014, 2 candidates applied for this position and 1 was assigned facilitator without the 2nd being considered. This person assigned, Dawn Klein Pilota claims to support our community but continually talks down to members of the community via text messages, Facebook and in person belittling. She has called our community police officers corrupt, dirty and on the take. She has told community members not to call 911 for emergencies, just to call her and she will take care of the issues. When she doesn't like your opinion, she blocks you on Facebook or attempts to drag your name and character through the mud. Dawn lacks so much support for our community that she threatened to move back to her prior town if Alderman Pope was reelected. Many community members have stopped attending CAPS meetings because they do not trust or want to be involved with Dawn. We went from attendance of 40+ to a handful of community members . We need someone positive, with no hidden motive or secret plans. We need a voice for all people, not just the select few we can benefit from or the few who agree with us. This community doesnt belong to one person and one person should not be able to scare off the community.

I don't think we should have a beat facilitator that accuses Chicago police officers of being on the take. As a police officer and one of the ones she accused, I am offended. How can she represent the police as a CAPS facilitator?
Actually, mostly everyone on here does A LOT for the community so maybe, how does the old saying go, shut the hell up.
I believe that someone who is trying to help the area has a right to defend ones self against people who make accusations, maybe some of these complainers should get off the whiners wagon & do something for the community.Old saying put up or shut up.
If this person is such a problem (and I am not doubting you)... Where is the Community Policing Sergeant or the District Commander on this issue? Has anyone spoken to them? I find it hard to believe any District Commander would allow this type of activity to continue, unchecked.
We don't need someone who takes a position - volunteer or not - just to be on a power trip. She's not working with the residents...she's working against them and our officers.
That woman Dawn is one of the meanest people I know. She is nothing but a bully on FB and most importantly does not even support our police.

Dawn has not shown the appropriate behavior of a Beat representative, She belittles people on facebook and blocks them if we the people of Beat433 disagree with her
