Had an interaction w/Felix today, struck me as a bully w/a badge just looking to pounce. Surely, we do not need such confrontational style in simple traffic stops?

My experience with Officer Felix was second hand at a birthday party I attended on Lopez during my high school years. When responding to a noise complaint, Officer Felix quickly resorted to pepper spray and physical restraint. I no longer live in San Nuan county but visit my parents who currently live near Friday Harbor.
Please remove Officer Felix before more citizens are hurt.

Officer Menjivar is a disaster waiting to happen. Please listen to your community members and remove him from his duties before he harms another citizen of San Juan County.

I have managed to escape personal contact with Officer Menjivar myself, I have lived on Lopez Island for many years, but my son has witnessed his inappropriate behavior and I have heard numerous stories from other Lopezians that are frightening. When I see him, I feel frightened. I believe he seeks violence and should not be a police officer or be allowed to carry deadly weapons.

I am from Lopez , San Juan County. I have no confidence in Felix Menjivar's decision making process under duress. He seems to overreact and has caused instability, fear and resentment toward our Sheriff's Dept. San Juan County deserves better.

I remember this man abusing his power 10 years ago when I was a teenager growing up on Lopez. Apparently he is is still at it. After reading what he did on Christmas Eve I was completely appalled. I agree wholeheartedly that this man should be removed from his position of power before something really terrible happens.

Little man complex, with a taser and a gun. A liability to our county.

I fully believe with my whole heart Felix is not fit to work as a cop or someone with high power, for our county or any other for that matter. He is dangerous and a liability. Not something our small precious town should risk.

This man has struck fear into my children. My children are what I live for. I have seen him in his element and wonder why he is with the sheriffs department at this time.

The police should not be a danger to the citizens. Felix is a loose cannon at times. He has shown himself to be a law enforcement zealot. Surely there are other better qualified to carry a gun and serve in this position.

My son and his friends had encounters as teens with Felix Menjivar on Lopez Island, in which his behavior ranged from inappropriate to horribly abusive. He was transferred to Friday Harbor because of all the complaints on Lopez. Over the years I have read of various incidents involving Felix in Friday Harbor--esp. inappropriate use of taser guns. The fact that he still appears to have serious anger management issues is deeply concerning. I realize that cops "protect their own" but really, are you waiting for him to kill someone before taking action?

Time to let him know who he actually works for and that he can be held accountable for his actions.

i have lived in these islands for over 40 years, this officers attitude and behavior is disrespectful and disgraceful to our communities even to the point of appearing ludicrous. Webster defines ludicrous as "....obvious absurdity, incongruity, exaggeration, or eccentricity absurdly inept, false, or foolish
encounters..."
This is unacceptable behavior from those we give permission to carry guns and act as the peace keepers in our community.
i speak from personal experience with this officer and add my name to create greater peace in our island communities.

The time has come for Felix Menjivar to face the reality that he is unfit to serve as a police officer. For years there have been way too many inappropriate incidents involving him and complaints about him from both Lopez Island and San Juan Island residents. The common denominator has always been Felix Menjivar and it is time for the San Juan County Sheriffs Dept. to remove him from duty.

I have heard many first hand accounts from very close friends and family members in which this authority figure has seemed unable to act in a professional and appropriate manor, and his uncontrolled anger and emotions make me fear violence to innocent civilians in our relatively peaceful community. It would be nice to be able to trust our police force to act as adults and mediate situations rather that exacerbate them.

I am 28 years old and grew up on San Juan Island. More than one of my friends has had awful experiences with this man. His behavior is unacceptable as a law officer.

I witnessed the Hayride Pull over on Christmas Eve.
I read the two reports written by both officers.
The reports lead me to believe that the truth is being distorted and leading to the reader.
If the officer's misrepresent on this one, have they done that on any other incidents?
Is there a pattern of Predatory Enforcement rather than Pro-Active/instructional Enforcement?
I am petitioning the County Council to do an investigation into the truth and accuracy of any and all sworn statement reports submitted by Deputy Felix Menjivar as reviewed by the injured.
The fact that Deputy Felix Menjivar's spouse has admitted to others the following statement which was posted on Friday Harbor Rant and Rave Face book: "Felix wears a camera every night. Exactly for this purpose. Because people Claim things happened a certain way and only a camera from HIS perspective shows how the other person is behaving." sets this simple tail light pull-over to be witness to the fact that a Deputy of the State has been illegally recording visually and audibly without disclosing this to the prosecutors, nor the Citizens.
