The newly adopted elementary ELA (English Language Arts) Curriculum, CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts) contains several sections on various world religions including Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, and Buddhism. The topic of world religion is not age-appropriate for elementary students and should be left for parents to discuss with their young children.Facts:
- Religions are NOT equally represented at all grade levels within the curriculum.
- The elementary school is NOT in any way required to teach religion.
- The religion sections within the curriculum are NOT required to meet state standards.

Totally agree. They should focus on core subjects only. Get this out of the classroom.
My 3rd grader came home asking questions i wasnt ready to answer yet. so frustrating.
Keep our kids innocent as long as possible. Religion is a home conversation not a school one.
WHY are they doing this?? leave our kids alone!
Teaching these things to little kids is just confusing them. Stop pushing this stuff on our children.

Ridiculous. Schools need to stick to reading and math and leave the rest to us parents.
