Tell the Cozad School Board to Remove World Religion from the Elementary School.
The newly adopted elementary ELA (English Language Arts) Curriculum, CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts) contains several sections on various world religions including Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, and Buddhism. The topic of world religion is not age-appropriate for elementary students and should be left for parents to discuss with their young children.Facts:
- Religions are NOT equally represented at all grade levels within the curriculum.
- The elementary school is NOT in any way required to teach religion.
- The religion sections within the curriculum are NOT required to meet state standards.
