I feel like this type of curriculum has no place in our public schools. Maybe-just maybe- in a district that is overcrowded and understaffed, with a severely low graduation rate. Schools that have plenty of teachers that are passionate about educating the young minds of our nation have no need for this curriculum. It is actually a disservice to those teachers. I just found out one of the most brilliant teachers in our district is no longer teaching his subject; as he is working to help students grasp how to be successful with Summit! Our children should not have to adapt to this program. Our teachers/curriculum should be adapting to our children. In a world when so much importance is placed upon being an individual, why are we forcing our children into a one-size fits all education? Parents are unhappy, teachers are unhappy and worst of all: STUDENTS are unhappy. We have to get rid of this curriculum before it's too late.

I agree with this! this doesn't help at all with anything, and it just makes the year more annoying!

This program is a disaster. The teachers know it doesn't work (but won't say so b/c they'll lose their jobs.) Our test scores suck, and nobody is learning anything. Dr. Wagner and Dr. Weightman need to wake up and dump this program before fairview goes completely down the drain.

The Board of Ed. has refused to listen to the community about their displeasure with this program. Now they are laying off teachers while spending millions to renovate the building...which fewer and fewer students are actually attending. We have been lied to for too long. Time for an entirely new board...along with a new superintendent as well.

Students don't receive a lot of work time at school, and we were told that we wouldn't get homework when we started so that whole idea really encourages slacking and we have no motivation to learn. A lot of kids would have good grades in the core classes, like me, if it wasn't for the platform. I feel that we should be excited to learn but with Summit it's hard to feel that way because it puts so much stress on us. We can't really work at our own pace. Due dates are unclear. Once you get behind it's hard to catch back up. Every day I hear kids complain way too much about school and I think it's terrible that so many of us hate school. I appreciate that the district wanted to better us but Summit is not the way.

I am in 6th grade, and I go to Morey Middle School. We use the summit curriculum, we adopted it last year (2018). I like the fact that I can move at my own pace (my pace is slow(; ) but I feel that I am losing connections with my teachers; teachers aren't helping me as much as they used to, since the goal of a "Personalized Learning Platform" is to use the resources provided.

I agree! For my school we attempted to make a petition that gained 185 signatures. Which is way more than our grade of 90 students, but it got no attention! Nobody wanted to do anything about it, so to see this petition it is comforting to know that more people feel the same way about this inefficient platform.

The teachers expect us to get everything done by the end of the day and we have an 1h and 30m to do it but they barley even explain what we need to do and everything is due at the same time. Bring back old learning.

EVERYBODY HATES SUMMIT. The teachers can't criticize it or they get fired. Students aren't learning anything. Dr. Wagner doesn't care! He just wants the money from Mark Zuckerberg.
