Remove the Summit Personalized Learning Program from the Fairview Park City School District! Bring Education Back!

Everyone in my school hates the summit program including me. More kids have failed and are still doing summer school! Kids want to have fun and go swimming in their summers, not have to go to school.

In an Age where computers are driving our children to bypass their youth, I am signing this petition to halt the Basecamp Learning at Fairview Park City Schools.

I don't want to look at a computer screen all day. It hurts my head.

My oldest daughter has yet to participate in this program. And I'm making every effort to undertstand its merits, however I am increasingly concerned that the program is not being executed effectively. This type of program when done well can be a great benefit to all students involved but needs to be used as a tool and not a teacher. My biggest concern with signing this petition is that it is not legitimate enough to achieve the change it is hoping to make. I ask that those who have organized this petition please investigate the legitimacy and ability to reply on accurate responses from this petition, minors and non resident voices while supportive may only muddy the waters of the legitimate issue of wanting the best for the children of Fairview park.

basecamp is literally teaching urself, might as well be homeschooled

As a parent who has been teaching online at the college level since 1996, I have serious concerns about this style of online learning being used for high school students. Even though neither of my children is involved in this program, I add my support to those who created this petition. The points made were excellent and are well connected to established pedagogy. Trends in education such as this personalized learning program and the flipped classroom that Fairview previously tried can cause serious life-long repercussions for the students. Please stop this failed experiment before it is too late for our community!

to be honest 98% of the school hates basecamp and everything to do with it. sorry to the 2% left but oh well

I've had a very difficult time with PLT/PLP personally, so I feel that removing or making changes to the process or program would really benefit me, and my fellow classmates.
